Adverse reactions are moved up among the common people regarding the activities of some NGOs, working in the name of serving Humanity at the Rohingya refugee camps of Ukhiya and Teknaf. Local community representatives have expressed their frustration and demanded to take necessary measures to monitor the activities of these NGOs. Upazila administration has formed an 11-member committee headed by Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Mejbah Uddin to investigate and oversee the actions of these NGOs with a greater importance. The committee has been given date-line to submit a written report on the identified NGOs in the next law-order committee meeting.

Monthly Upazila law and order committee meeting was held in Ukhiya Upazila Conference Hall at 11 am on Wednesday.Chief Executive Officer Md.Nikaruzzaman Presided over the meeting.Local public representitives have alleged that some NGOs are taking unfair advantage in the name of humanity to make money.Rohingyas are being deprived by giving low quality or useless goods In the name of relief distribution.

These NGOs are creating false impression against repatriation among the Rohingyas who took shelter in Bangladesh.Citing the law and order situation In Rohingya Camps , Public representatives insisted to take legal measures against them by checking the movement of these NGOs and their overall activities. Otherwise, the public representatives along with people of the area will go to the streets against those NGOs.

Based on such allegation of the public representatives,An 11-members investigation and supervision committee was formed by convenor of the upazila executive officer and health officer. Other members of the committee are: Secondary Education Officer Raihanul Islam Mia, Social Welfare Officer Kabir Ahmad, Agriculture Officer Shariful Islam, General Secretary of Upazilla Awami League and Rajapalong UP chairman Jahangir Kabir Chowdhury, Chairman of Rangan Union Khairul Alam Chowdhury, Chairman of Haldiaapalong Union Chairman Shah Alam, Palangkhali Union Chairman M Gafur Uddin, Jaliyapa Color Chairman Nurul Amin Chowdhury, Press Club president Rafiqul Islam Ukhiya.
