Every year 27th September is observed as the ‘ world tourism day’ around the world with much fanfare and enormous joys, in this case Bangladesh is not an exception.
Bangladesh aims at boosting tourism also observes this eventful day with tremendous activities and elaborate programmes.

Being the tourism capital of Bangladesh , Cox’s Bazar joins the party with various procession, carrying the placards, banner followed by many other events organised by many tour operators.
.

In reality, it is just another normal day passing through gaining nothing from the expectations leaving the expectations wide open over the decades long with false hope .

Coxsbazar being the world’s longest unbroken sandy beach, a place of great harmony with a hill in the east and the sea in the west attracts thousand of visitors every year mostly from home and a very little from abroad.

The reason of foreigners or the western travelers very poor in number is what I analysed as follows, infra structurally it is not a well built , the City of our own is missing the great developments in many ways to cope with rest of the other cities across the globe.

A terrible communication that takes 12 hours to come here in Coxsbazar from capital Dhaka, not having enough facilities, not being a tourist friendly town like others around the world, lack of proper entertainment are the some of the key challenges in our way to progress in tourism industry .

The entertainment PATA defers is different than the enjoyment I am mentioning here, which is misunderstood by many in a whole , PATA values on morality , sustainability, ethical tourism and environment friendly tours where Bangladesh is miles away from achieving its standard goals of above mentioned .

Our prime minister inaugurated the international cricket Stadium, extended the airport and laid the foundation of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar rail way, but the question is , why did she only climb a little stair of a highest peak of a tourism industry of enormous potentialities? Still the credit goes to her for the magnificent developments we have been enjoying over the years.

According to the tourism experts, we need to have high class casinos,we need bars, we need pubs, we need dance clubs, we need parks, though these are against the religious doctrine and it might ruin the social values and religious practices, on the contrary many argue to keep more concentration on the infrastructures, drainage system, security and cleanness.

A Master plan for boosting the tourism is badly needed then only we can expect that , it will pave the ways to earn foreign currencies and this is how we can only develop the local economy.
