Rohingya children have seen the mass killing, heathenism and cruelty of the army in Myanmar.They have also witnessed torture, pick up and killing of their parents including burnt houses.Most of the children of Rohingya have lost their father-in-law,members of the family.The children who escaped from Rakhaine state to Bangladesh are traumatized severely.In order to restore normalcy among these children,about one hundred mobile and permanent child-friendly centers have been established at Rohingyas camps in Ukhia and Teknaf. These child-friendly centers have now become a safe heaven for those Rohingya children.They are drawing flowers of different colors, playing with friends cheerfully and Taking breath without fear over there.
Acting District Social Welfare Officer Imran Khan said, “Bangladesh is a signatory country of the International Child’s Rights Charter.The government of Bangladesh is working to protect the wellbeing of the children, including Rohingya children, and upholding the right to practice culture and language.Every child at any age can reach there and enjoy together with friends at any time from 9am to 4pm daily.
It is to be mentioned that Since August 24 More than 618 thousands Rohingyas have fled from Rakhaine state to Bangladesh to save their life. About 60 percent of them are children.The government and international organizations have taken initiatives to bring back normalcy among the children. The Child Friendly spaces are being used as tools to ventilate the stresses of the traumatized children.
