The district level advocacy workshop was held on Skill for Employment Investment Program (SEIP) Under the Ministry of Finance organised by the district administration on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ali Hossain presided over the discussion meeting on the occasion.
Gender and Social Development Specialist of the SEIP project and Honorable Joint Secretary-Secretary of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Satyajit Karmakar was present as Chief Guest at the meeting held in the conference room of the DC office. The Chief Guest said” Government is working to create 5 lakhs skilled manpower in different categories within 5 years”. As part of this initiative, one lakh drivers will be trained to reduce the road accidents.
Deputy Commissioner said. Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has plan to implement various types of mega project across the country to consolidate our position as developed nation.Skilled manpower is being produced in different sectors under SEIP project for that purpose. If the manpower is not turned into skilled worker then the desired goal can not be achieved.
The underprivileged will also be trained, developing new entrepreneurs are the objectives of the project as well as to increase the productivity in the SME sector by developing skills of the youth of the country.Project content development expert Dr. Waliur Rahman, additional district magistrate Khaled Mahmud, assistant commissioners and magistrates, government officials, NGOs, civil society, journalists and other representatives were present in the daylong workshop.
According to the information, the training period for search engine optimization (SEO), digital marketing, technical IT support, customer support and service and IT sales management is one month. Three months of training on Web Design, Graphic Design, Web Development (PHP), Web Development (DotNet), Mobile Application Development, Server Administration and Cloud Management, Affiliate Marketing, English Communication and Business Communication.
According to the conditions of the project, training providers will arrange job for 70 percent of the trainees whowill have completed the course. In this training, 15 percent quota for women, disabled and disadvantaged areas will be reserved. All information related to training will be available directly through the contact of SEIP project.
